The first rifle I purchased for my collection was a Springfield M1 Garand.  Till this day, it is my favorite rifle I've fired.  The serial number is 1994XXX and was originally issued to the U.S. Army Transport division in early 1945.

if this rifle saw action during WWII, it would have been late in the war on the Pacific front.  Most likely it saw most of its action during the Korean War.

This bayonet that came with it is post Korean War. The sling is a reproduction of the original WWII leather M1 slings.

It was re-barreled in 1965 then sold through CMP.  All parts are Springfield and the parking is original.  The stock is very clean and the bore is nice and shiny.
